Our Team
Peter Hart,
Certified Arborist
Peter’s passion for trees started early in life. He was actively involved and taught at Audubon Nature Camps beginning at the age of 12. While a young teenager, he had memorized the botanical names for most of the trees indigenous to New England. He then acquired his degree in Arboriculture from the University of Massachusetts.
In just 20 years, he became a Massachusetts-certified arborist. As he pursued his career, he also obtained the certified arborist and Tree Risk Assessment Qualification status through the International Society of Arboriculture. He is also a Maryland Licensed Tree Expert and an accepted member of the premier professional arborist organization, the American Society of Consulting Arborists.
Peter believes strongly in the importance of continuing education in Arboriculture and regularly participates in continued learning in the ever-changing Arboriculture world.

Eric Gibbons,
Certified Arborist
Eric, a steadfast presence at Riverbend for over a year, brings a rich tapestry of experiences that grace our midst. His earlier days as an arborist for a hunt club speak of a deep affinity with nature's rhythms, a trait that now colors his approach to our endeavors.
Before joining us, Eric's dedication found expression as a high school PE and Driver's Ed teacher, shaping young lives with wisdom and care. This same care is evident in his role here, as he navigates tasks with a seasoned hand and a patient demeanor.
Yet, beyond his professional roles, Eric finds his center in his family – a devoted husband and father of three, residing in the tranquil embrace of Warrenton. This gentle reminder of his humanity adds a touch of authenticity to his interactions.
In essence, Eric's journey, woven with threads of arboriculture, education, and family, adorns our narrative with a blend of skill, kindness, and depth that is undeniably enriching.

Growing up in Northern Virginia, Dave has spent more than 25 years working in the landscaping and hardscaping industry. With decades of hands-on
experience, he has developed an in-depth understanding of what it takes to create outdoor spaces that are not only beautiful, but functional and built to last.
What Dave enjoys most is helping people see the potential in their own yard. As a dad to his daughter, he understands how important it is to have a space where you can relax, entertain, make memories, and simply enjoy being outside. He believes your outdoor space should be more than something
you look at — it should be a place you genuinely want to spend time.
Whether that means creating a beautiful patio, adding the right landscape features, or making better use of the space you already have, Dave brings the experience and perspective to help turn that vision into reality.
In his spare time, Dave enjoys fishing, boating, hiking, and spending time with his daughter and family.

She stays busy with her many house projects and “mini jobs,” always finding something new to learn, create, or help with.
Sawyer Jones
Director of Finance
Sawyer grew up in Great Falls and watched his brother build Riverbend from one truck and a mower into a company trusted with the most challenging tree removals in the region. That front-row seat to what hard work and ambition can build inspired him to join the team.
After earning degrees in Finance, Accounting, and Pre-Law, Sawyer got his CPA license and built his career as a finance and operations leader. He helped a high-growth SaaS company implement scalable operations, dramatically improve its financial position, and developed a passion for investing in the people around him.
At Riverbend, all of that experience focuses on two things: delivering a premier client experience and building an all-star team to back it up. Sawyer maintains an operational ethos that keeps Riverbend performing at the highest level: streamlined client communication, efficient day-to-day operations, and a financial strategy that keeps pricing competitive. He continually invests in the training and equipment that keep the company at the forefront of the industry. The result is a business that runs as professionally behind the scenes as it performs on your property.
A proud Eagle Scout out of Troop 673, Sawyer has always been drawn to the outdoors. Whether he's on a river, deep in the backcountry, or chasing his next western adventure, his connection to the natural world makes the work at Riverbend feel personal.
